flùr garden design

Helen Chandler
garden designer

Based in East Lothian. Operating in Edinburgh, through out the Lothians and further afield.

Most people who want to make changes to their garden contact a landscaper, but landscapers are not generally designers. At flùr garden design I want to work with you to explore the potential of your garden and create a design you love BEFORE you contact a landscaper.

Once you have a design you can then employ a landscaper who has the skills to turn your design into reality and make you a beautiful garden based on the design we have created. Or you might want to make the garden yourself.

services

I provide a customised mix of services depending on what you need.

  • design work
space: I can create an individual and inspirational hand drawn and coloured design for your garden in response to how you want to use your space. I will listen and work with you to meet your aspirations, often in unexpected ways.

plants: I develop ideas to make colourful and attractive planted areas that are also good for wildlife. I will tailor my plant design service to whatever you need.

  • gardening for wildlife
assessment and advice: If you want to encourage more wildlife into your garden I can visit and assess it, and provide tailored advice on the short and longer term changes you can make.

  • garden maintenance
mentoring: Inspiring confidence by planning and gardening together to develop and manage your garden.

bring your garden to life

Together we can make a space that is:

Alive to your senses

with plants you want to smell, surfaces and plants you want to touch, areas that draw your eye and possibly plants you can taste. It will inspire you to get out into your garden.

Vibrant

with an imaginative design using shape, colour, texture, interesting features and the right choice of materials/planting. It will be a space you want to sit, relax, eat, look, grow, share with others, or just have a wander around with a cup of tea to see what is happening. As well as beautiful I will make it practical and easy to use.

Full of life

where birds , butterflies, bees and other insects thrive. A living garden with flowers, colour and interest throughout the year. You can have a beautiful garden that is also friendly for wildlife.
