design for landscapers

I currently work in partnership with an established landscaper, providing his business with a garden design service for his customers. I have been doing this since 2017 and have produced designs for numerous customers. We have developed a very successful way of working together and my input adds real value to his business. My involvement makes a significant contribution to the high level of customer satisfaction achieved.

If you are a landscaper, I can work with you on a regular basis or on a specific project where your customer is looking for something a bit different with a higher design value.

project management

I do not generally provide a service where I would draw up detailed specification documents for your garden, help with tendering to obtain quotes for landscaping work, meet with potential landscapers, layout the design prior to work starting on site or supervise work on site as a project manager.

Most projects will not require this level of input but there might be some particularly large or complex projects that do. Or you might feel that you would like some additional input to feel confident the landscaping work will be done correctly. Any additional work I do in this respect will be agreed with you in advance with a bespoke fee proposal.

A first invoice for 50% of the agreed fee will be paid before work started and 50% on satisfactory completion. Please note the successful landscaper undertaking your landscaping work would be employed by you.

planting

The garden design service outlined above does not include a suggested plant list, the provision of a detailed planting plan, buying plants or planting. However, these are available as additional services.

plant lists

These will suggest individual plants in the form of a plant list for each planted area in the garden. I will use a website called Shoot Gardening to do this. I have a professional membership of this site which will enable me to create a Shoot plant list specifically for your garden and the site will allow you access to this from your computer at home. I will aim to provide all year-round interest so there is something lovely to look at throughout most of the year. Also, I will aim to choose plants for your Shoot plant list which are generally easy to source and easy to look after if you do not have much experience and/or do not want to spend too much time gardening.

The Shoot plant list will include at least one colour photograph of each plant so you can see what it looks like, and information about the plant including where it likes to grow best, how large it will grow and how to look after it. Each month you will receive a notification from Shoot Gardening listing the things you need to do that month to maintain the listed plants in your garden. There is plenty of information on the site about how to carry out various maintenance tasks. This is an ongoing service I will provide for two years from an agreed date. At the end of two years you can obviously take out an individual membership of Shoot Gardening.

I will provide a fee proposal if you are interested in this service.

planting plan

In addition to the above Shoot plant list with Shoot Gardening, I can use your master plan to develop a full planting plan for each planted area which shows exactly what will be planted and where. All the plants will, in turn be listed on the Shoot plant list on Shoot Gardening and you will be able to access the service outlined above for two years from an agreed date. At the end of two years you can obviously take out an individual membership of Shoot Gardening.

I will provide a fee proposal if you are interested in this service.

buying plants and planting

You are free to purchase your own plants, either all at once to create a more finished look to your garden or over a longer period to develop the planting gradually. However, you may also want to consider me buying the plants for you especially if you want the whole of the garden planted up at the same time.

I will deliver the plants myself or arrange delivery depending on the supplier. As soon as you receive the plants you are responsible for them re tending them and keeping them watered. If I purchase plants for you, I can also undertake to plant them, or you can do this yourself.

I will provide a fee proposal if you are interested.
