I offer a comprehensive garden design service for an all-inclusive fee with no hidden costs. The fee for your garden will depend on the following:

  • distance – I live and work in East Linton, East Lothian. Your fee will be based on whether you are within a local 15 miles, a medium distance of between 16 and 30 miles or a longer distance of 31 to 45 miles from East Linton. I incorporate a standard travel cost into the overall fee accordingly. Customers who live further than 45 miles away will receive a bespoke fee proposal.

  • size– The fee will reflect whether the space you want redesigned is small, medium or large. The space could be either a front or back garden, could include both or might be just a specific part.

  • design complexity – The fee will also reflect the complexity of the design including the shape of the garden space, the different levels within the garden space and how involved the garden design brief is from you. Your project will be defined as standard or complex.

    A standard design project will be a reasonably flat space or possibly a limited change in level that will need to be incorporated into a design. It will be a regular or maybe a slightly more irregular shape. It will be easy to survey and the customer brief will be straight forward.

    A complex design project might involve more pronounced changes in level that will need to be specifically incorporated into a design. Also, the space may be a more complicated shape and may have existing features which require a more involved survey and a more complex design. There will probably be a more challenging customer brief.

Most garden spaces will be small and medium sized and standard in their design complexity. For example, you might live within 15 miles of East Linton, have a medium sized back garden you want to be redesigned, it slopes a bit from top to bottom and what you want from your garden is straight forward making it a standard design. Your all-inclusive fee will be for a local project, of a medium size and standard design.

I will have an initial meeting with you to see the garden space you want to be redesigned, take some basic measurements of the area involved and discuss what you want from the space. I can then forward the garden design fee to you for consideration.
