Proposed Fees – Original | Flur Garden Design

I live and work in East Linton, East Lothian. Rather than charge mileage and travel time I will incorporate a standard travel cost into the overall fee depending on how far you live from East Linton.

Fees will be based on whether you are within a local 15 miles, a medium distance of between 16 and 30 miles or a longer distance of between 31 and 45 miles from East Linton. Customers who live further than 45 miles away will will receive a bespoke fee proposal.

Size – The size of your garden, whether it is small, medium or large. If you just want a part of your garden designed, I will propose a fee that is proportional to the area being redesigned.
Design Complexity – The complexity of the design process including the shape of the garden, the different levels in the garden and how involved the garden design brief is from the you.
Standard Design – Flat or possibly a limited change of level that will need to be specifically incorporated into a design, a regular or maybe a slightly more idiosyncratic shape. It will be straightforward to survey and the Customer Brief is standard including paved paths, patio and/or decking, soft landscaped areas like flower beds, a possible storage structure like a shed or bin store and possible washing line/ rotary drier. There might also be some additional features, for example a small water feature, a structure like a summer house, gazebo or archways, space for a BBQ/ firepit, or child friendly features.
Complex Design – Probably changes in level that will need to be specifically incorporated into a design, probably an idiosyncratic shape and existing features which require a more involved survey and a more complex design. In addition to this a more demanding Customer Brief possibly including different areas in the garden, additional features including for example, a larger or more complex water feature, sunken patio, various structures, Outside Room features like a built-in fire pit or BBQ, or possible areas designed specifically for children.

Most gardens will be Small and Medium sized and Standard in their design complexity.

The above fee is inclusive of a full garden design service including three visits, a first initial meeting, a second survey visit and a third meeting with your Sketch Plan prior to completing your final Master Plan. However, you might want to see a revised Sketch Plan incorporating your amendments before I draw your final Master Plan.

We would then meet for a fourth time with a revised Sketch Plan. There will be an additional all-inclusive fee covering my time to revise the Sketch Plan, travel expenses for a fourth meeting and an hour together to go through the Sketch Plan and agree any final amendments before I produce your final Master Plan.
